Descripción

In this episode, we slow things down. This is a guided imagery exercise designed to help you calm your nervous system, reduce stress in the moment, and reconnect with a sense of safety and ease. You’ll be invited to bring to mind a place or memory that feels comforting, and gently explore it through your senses to anchor yourself in the present. This is something you can come back to anytime... when you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, before bed, or when you just need a moment to reset. There’s no right or wrong way to do this, just follow along and allow yourself to settle.

Redefining Enough: Work, Family & the Myth of Balance

In this episode of Advantage, I sit down with registered clinical counsellor, group practice owner, coach, and podcast host Lisa Catallo for an honest conversation about burnout, perfectionism, and the pressure to “do it all.” Together, we explore the tension between work, motherhood, relationships, and personal well-being.. and why true balance often feels more like a teeter totter than a perfect scale. Lisa shares her personal experience navigating burnout, the early signs she missed, and how shame, high expectations, and performance-based worth quietly fuelled the overwhelm. We also talk about redefining self-care, learning to let go of perfectionism, creating healthier boundaries with work, and giving yourself permission to rest, pivot, and be imperfect. Because sometimes healing begins with asking: What actually requires my energy right now? For more information about Lisa's podcast and coaching, follow her at @grouppracticenetwork

The Hidden Biology of Burnout: Why You're More Exhausted Than You Think

What if your burnout isn’t just mental… but something your body is experiencing at a cellular level? In this episode, I sit down with functional diagnostic nutrition practitioner Dori Martin to explore a completely different lens on stress and burnout, one that goes beyond mindset and into what’s happening inside your body. We talk about minerals, nervous system dysregulation, and how chronic stress can quietly deplete your energy from the inside out. If you’ve ever been told “your labs are normal” but you know something feels off… this conversation will feel incredibly validating. We also get into: * Why burnout can leave you feeling stuck, exhausted, and overwhelmed (even when nothing “big” is wrong) * How your body shifts between stress and depletion states * The connection between your nervous system, hormones, digestion, and energy * Simple (but powerful) ways to support your body, like sunlight, hydration, and slowing down This episode is a reminder that your body isn’t broken, it’s communicating with you. And maybe burnout isn’t just something to push through… but an invitation to listen, reconnect, and heal in a different way. episode The Hidden Reality of Parental Burnout artwork

The Hidden Reality of Parental Burnout

In this episode, I sit down with registered clinical counsellor Hilary Evans to talk about the often unspoken reality of parental burnout. Hilary works primarily with families and children with complex care needs, and through her work she began noticing how many parents were quietly carrying deep exhaustion, emotional overwhelm, and a sense of disconnection in their parenting. In our conversation, we explore: * What parental burnout actually is and how it differs from everyday parenting stress * The emotional experience many parents carry - including guilt, grief, and shame * Why burnout isn’t just an individual issue, but also a systemic one * Early signs parents can watch for before burnout deepens * Practical ways to start moving out of chronic stress and toward regulation * Why feeling emotionally distant from your child says nothing about your love for them One of the most powerful takeaways from this conversation is Hilary’s reminder that when parents feel disconnected or overwhelmed, it reflects burnout and not their worth or love as a parent. If you’ve ever felt exhausted, stuck, or alone in your parenting experience, this conversation is for you.
