Afrikan Queens Episode 7 - The Warrior Queen of Zazzau - Queens Amina of Zaria with Yoma Smith We continue learning about Afrikan Queens and sheroes through the lens of our modern sheroes and community leaders and In this episode we hear from Yoma Smith a performer and community leader who shares the story of the warrior Queen Amina of Zaria and also princess Salma of Zanzibar and Queen Ndata. Yoma Smith is a marketing & communications professional who loves arts and culture. She applies her vocational skills in supporting community projects; and exercises her creative skills in writing, presenting and performing songs, poetry, and spoken word … [on themes relating to heritage, diversity, social and environmental justice, personal growth and local community development]. She is a founding co-director of Black Women Let Loose Theatre Company CIC - created to highlight the experiences of women of African and Caribbean descent.
