All His Church
Day 22 of All His Church takes listeners into Psalm 130’s cry, “Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord,” and explores what it means to move beyond “3.7 GPA Christianity” in real life. Chris reflects on his own tendency to do just enough to get by—illustrated by a story from high school and a surprisingly convicting moment with a lawn mower and elderly neighbors next door. From there, he walks through the Catholic and Protestant understandings of faith and works, bringing James 2:14–26 into conversation with Jesus’ warnings about the narrow gate and narrow door. Rather than trying to solve the Reformation, the episode highlights the shared biblical call to a faith that actually does something. This episode invites listeners to move past minimum-effort religion and into daily, concrete acts of love—the “extra .3” of effort that no one may notice but God. It’s an honest, accessible reflection for anyone who suspects they’ve been coasting spiritually and wants to respond more fully to Jesus’ call to let their light shine before others.
