Today's medical school coaching programs focus on a wide variety of individualized goals, including professional identity formation and academic performance, while strengthening skills such as community building, leadership and lifelong learning. In this episode of Catalyzing Change in MedEd, you'll listen in on a mini coaching session with guests Nicole Deiorio, MD, associate dean for Student Affairs and professor of Emergency Medicine, Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and Maya Hammoud, MD, MBA, professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Learning Health Sciences, University of Michigan Medical School, to better understand the nuances of academic coaching and what differentiates it from coaching in athletics. Drs. Deiorio and Hammoud will also discuss how coaching benefits both the coachee and the coach, as well as opportunities—and considerations—when incorporating technology such as artificial intelligence into the coaching experience.
