Anchored in Hope
What happens when we live as though our spiritual battery is running low—even though the Holy Spirit lives within us? In this Family Worship Day message, Pastor Tim Franklin invites both children and adults to consider how often we operate in “low power mode” instead of living in the fullness of God’s power. Looking at Acts 2 and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, Pastor Tim contrasts the fearful disciples hiding behind closed doors with the bold witnesses they became after being filled with the Spirit. The same Holy Spirit who empowered the early church lives in every believer today, giving strength, courage, and the words we need to share the hope of Jesus. Using the familiar image of a phone battery and charger, this message challenges us to stop suppressing the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Rather than conforming to the world or relying on our own strength, we are called to live as living sacrifices—allowing God to renew our minds and work through us every day of the week. If you’ve ever felt spiritually drained, fearful, or burned out, this message is a reminder that God has not left you powerless. His Spirit is alive and at work in His people. This message was recorded at Living Hope Fellowship, a Baptist church in Denison, Texas. We believe the Bible is God’s Word and that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the hope we all need.
