Descripción

I recently made a comment on a White House Facebook post regarding Nicki Minaj and the current administration. Within minutes, I was met with a flood of responses that utilized a word I hadn’t heard normalized in public discourse since junior high. This episode is the audio from a video I recorded during a night walk to address this fallout; you can watch the full video on my new YouTube channel, Anthro for America. In this episode, I share a “rant” recorded during a night walk where I address the fallout from those comments. Beyond the personal insults, I want to look at the broader anthropological implications of this language. Creating labels and normalizing slurs is a classic move by authoritarians to take away the agency of those who criticize them. It is a way to discredit an opinion without having to actually refute the evidence provided. I regularly engage with stats, facts, and constitutional evidence. I invite anyone who disagrees with my perspective to come out and refute the evidence I provide. But as I discuss here, the current trend of using derogatory statements and “bold faith lies” is a dangerous step toward suppressing the very free speech that allows our republic to function. Listen to the episode to hear more on: * Why Trump is a “master brander” of dehumanizing labels. * The psychological tactics used to make critics feel “less than” in the eyes of the public. * Why I am not a Democrat, but why I am actively fighting against these authoritarian moves. Episode 2 - The Amendments After

Welcome back to the Anthro for America podcast! In Episode 1, we read the foundational Bill of Rights. Now, in Episode 2, host James Schofield moves on to the remaining 17 amendments to complete the full text of the U.S. Constitution’s amendments. Just like before, James reads Amendments 11 through 27 verbatim, without commentary, providing a crucial, unfiltered look at the evolution of American law. These amendments cover essential concepts that shaped the nation, from the abolition of slavery (Amendment 13) and birthright citizenship (Amendment 14) to Prohibition and its repeal (Amendments 18 & 21), and expanding voting rights by race, sex, and age (Amendments 15, 19, & 26). This two-part series sets the stage for future episodes where James will deep dive into all 27 amendments and the Constitution’s articles, analyzing and pinpointing where the current U.S. President may be violating these crucial foundational texts. Listen now to finish reviewing the constitutional amendments and prepare for the analysis to come. Next Up: In Episode 3, we’ll work backward to the Preamble and the original Articles of the Constitution.
