By age nine he was placed into care and labelled “maladjusted” by a psychologist — a label that followed him into school exclusions, addiction, crime, and multiple prison sentences.He started smoking cannabis at 12. Used heroin at 18. Spent over 20 years addicted to heroin and crack cocaine.
