Babies Bumps & Becoming
Hey y'all! Why did no one tell me that Controlled Cord Traction (CCT) was considered normal?! In this video I walk you through the (horror) story of seeing CCT without ANY prior knowledge of the technique. Further more we discuss Manual Placental Extraction - what it is and when it's necessary. So thanks to Jessica for re-traumatizing me by suggesting I talk about this experience! To be clear, CCT is considered a "normal" practice often being used to decrease risk for postpartum hemorrhage by encouraging the uterus to clamp down on the blood vessels as the placenta is expelled. In this video I explain how in my opinion, ANY manipulation of the placental can be considered Manual Placental Extraction. So I learned a lot from this experience, hopefully you can too! Like, share, subscribe! Check out my youtube channel for the video!
