We have had a small break but today, I am so excited to be joined by Hannah Miley, one of Scotland’s most successful swimmers. A double Commonwealth champion, and three time Olympian, Hannah has plenty of stories and experience behind her. We talked all about her career, plus how she struggled to shift into the ‘calm’ of retirement, and all about some of her recent projects, including stopping the stamina around periods in sport. episode Becky Wilde: Rower, Olympic Bronze Medallist artwork

Becky Wilde: Rower, Olympic Bronze Medallist

Today, Leah is joined by rower Becky Wilde. After growing up as a competitive swimmer, in her late teens, she made the decision to start rowing after being inspired by the likes of Helen Glover and Heather Stanning. Making the move has paid off for Becky as last summer she claimed Bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with her partner Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne. It has been a rollercoaster of a career for Becky over the last few years. As well as a change in sport, she’s also undergone two major surgeries including 1 just 10 weeks before Olympic trials. Becky talked me through the physical and mental toll that these took and how her Mathilda went into the games as underdogs and how great it felt to end this summer on the podium. episode Charlotte Hodgkis-Byrne: Cyclist, Olympian and former Rower artwork

Charlotte Hodgkis-Byrne: Cyclist, Olympian and former Rower

Today my guest is Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne; previously an ex Team GB rower and Olympian, in 2022 she decided to swap the boat for the bike. Since then she has thrived in her new career and I was super excited to chat all about that on today’s episode. From growing up in a non-competitive household, that created two Olympians (Charlotte and her sister, Mathilda), to going out on her own and competing in and completely new sport in her 20s. It’s great to speak to someone who has competed at an exceptionally high-level over two sports and find out more about what it takes to get there.
