MAY 25 - The Strength in Humility 3-Year-Bible Reading: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%2016%3A19%E2%80%9320%3B%20Psalms%2059%3B%20Galatians%206&version=WEB&interface=print // https://amzn.to/4pmHfWh // ________________________________________ “It is better to be of a lowly spirit with the poor than to divide the spoil with the proud. Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.” — Proverbs 16:19–20 (ESV) “But you, O Lord, laugh at them; you hold all the nations in derision.” — Psalm 59:8 (ESV) “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” — Galatians 6:10 (ESV) ________________________________________ It’s easy to feel pressured to “keep up” with others—social media likes, popularity, or being first in everything. But Proverbs 16 reminds us that humility and trusting God matter far more than chasing pride or recognition. Life can feel unfair when others hurt or betray us, like David experienced in Psalm 59, but God sees everything and holds the power, even laughing at those who oppose His plans. Galatians 6 calls us to respond not with bitterness, but by doing good to everyone, especially those in our faith community. True strength isn’t about showing off or winning at all costs—it’s about humility, trusting God, and using every opportunity to bless others. Even small acts of kindness, encouragement, or standing up for what’s right reflect God’s character and make a real difference in the world around us. ________________________________________ THINK ABOUT IT 1. Humility Wins: How can you choose humility over pride this week, even when it feels like others are “ahead” of you (Proverbs 16:19)? 2. Trust God in the Tough Spots: How does remembering that God holds all nations and laughs at the schemes of the wicked (Psalm 59:8) change the way you deal with conflict or betrayal? 3. Do Good Wherever You Can: What is one way you can actively do good for others this week, both in your school, friend group, or church community (Galatians 6:10)? ________________________________________ BOTTOM LINE Humility, trust in God, and doing good to others build real strength that lasts longer than pride or status. ________________________________________ PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for showing me that true strength comes from humility and trusting You. Help me to stay lowly in spirit, do good to others, and remember that You see and hold power over everything around me. Teach me to respond with love and courage, even when life feels unfair. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
