Travels with Emily - Part 2 - Backpacking Europe

In this episode, you can listen to the second half of my interview with my daughter Emily. She discusses more about her trip backpacking in Europe with her bestie Amelia... or as I call her, Amelia Badelia. Also, Nicola and I have a bit of an update about our trip to Mexico. We tested positive for COVID and are still waiting out our time before we can get back to Canada. Ever since my daughter Emily was very young, I knew I wanted to take her on travels around the world. I started out slowly with a trip to Florida but Nicola and I took her on some pretty adventurous trips to China, Indonesia and other places. Now an adult, Emily and I discuss our travels together as well as her trip backpacking through Europe with her friend Amelia. It is very exciting for me that Emily wants to travel now and it gives us so much to talk about. Her experiences are likely helpful for young people wanting to do Europe on their own. St. Petersburg - 72 Hours or Less

Russia is a huge country which can be very challenging to visit... visas and booking can be difficult and Nicola had no interest in going back. I was adamant that we should get there when we travelled through Scandanavia and the Baltics. There is a way to visit St. Petersburg, Russia, from Helsinki, Stockholm or Tallinn on a 72 Hour Visa. In this episode, I talk about our quick 72 hour (or less) trip to SPB by ferry from Helsinki. It was a memorable visit that I managed to convince Nicola to do for my birthday in 2019.
