Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Chiseled by Correction Text: Matthew 16:22-23 “Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”” God builds people not only through affirmation, but through loving correction. God's correction is a blessing that leads to abundant life. Movements start with movement... * Peter gets revelation, but still lacks maturity. Simon Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." -Matthew 16:16 * Jesus corrects Peter’s thinking. Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.”” Matthew 16:23 * Peter wants Jesus without the cross. “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24 NIV * God’s building process includes confrontation. “Those who disregard discipline despise themselves, but the one who heeds correction gains understanding.” Proverbs 15:32 NIV If we want to move higher with Jesus, we must learn to recieve correction. --Matthew 17:1 ★ Support this podcast ★ [https://bridgechurch.tv/give/]
