Spring camp is heating up in Goodyear, and we’ve got a packed Guardians update covering injuries, roster battles, breakout prospects, and some BIG-picture implications for 2026. Is there any reason to worry? Chase DeLauter was scratched with lower-body soreness (precautionary) before facing the Rangers and wasn’t in the lineup against Seattle either. Manager Stephen Vogt says it’s early-camp workload related and not expected to cost him much time. Before the scratch, DeLauter was raking: * 3-for-6 (.500) * 1 double, 1 RBI * 1.167 OPS * 101 mph single, 107 mph liner Given Cleveland passed on veteran outfield additions, this is still viewed as his job. No platoon red flags. If he’s back this weekend or early next week, the plan doesn’t change — he’s projected as a core bat alongside Steven Kwan and José Ramírez. Joey Cantillo? * Competing hard for a spot * Altered grip on a key secondary pitch * Strong late-2025 finish (3.21 ERA over 95+ IP) He’s out of options, which adds pressure, but the organization views him as a starter fit. Spring results aren’t a concern. Breakout candidate at 26. David Fry is back behind the plate after two Tommy Johns and a broken face — and looks fantastic. Vogt says his arm looks “incredible.” Confidence is fully back. When healthy, Fry brings All-Star-level upside and elite versatility. Bo Naylor simplified his swing (ditched the high leg kick) and the results are loud: * .750 AVG / 2.050 OPS early Cactus League * .290 AVG / .872 OPS in late 2025 stretch If the adjustments stick?
