I read and discuss four passages from Toll the Hounds - the Eighth book of the Malazan Book of the Fallen Series by Steven Erikson. Alternate chapters in Toll the Hounds follow an "accordion" structure of sorts where there is a poetic introduction to and conclusion of the events of the chapter.
