The Bubby Shmooze | Episode 2

The word recession has become one of the most used words in the English language.   It is funny that the luxury market is growing twofold, while the recession is being felt so strongly.  If you read LinkedIn News you will have seen two contradictory-sounding posts in their feed that were put up on the same day. One by Aaron Toumazou, in which he states that LVMH a luxury conglomerate, has declared that their profits are on course to increase by 21% in the year 2021. The second article by Hugo Arévalo Álvarez-Arenasus Pratap Singh, states that the Bank of England has forecasted the most prolonged recession since records began.  I am not an economist, so I can't explain these two seemingly opposite forecasts, but I have been wondering if people have been shopping with intent because of the recession. Are we making decisions based on quality that would last longer and not buying throw-out merchandise?  In The UPLIFT youtube series of shows we produce from our various interviews, we have started a new Show called. Bubby Shmooze (Grandmothers Chat), where Aliza Marton, our Art editor and I get together to discuss the issues of the week while sharing tips on saving money and relevant news and views. We also share some recipes that go a long way towards helping save money in the home.
