Traditional live music has become increasingly commercialized, with high ticket prices, corporate fees, and distant stages creating barriers between artists and their most passionate fans. In 2017 she returned to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with her half-hour show, “Born with a Bush”. Now living in Oakland with a small tribe of mothers, Geneva performs all over the Bay Area. She placed 3rd in the 2018 Rooster T. Feathers comedy competition (tied with Ryan Goodcase). In addition to writing and performing standup, Geneva is a writer for Killing My Lobster and Nice Tan, two SF-based sketch comedy groups. Her moms love all her jokes except the stupid ones. We’re breaking format for a week to sit down with label mate Kristin Lytie, comedian & union organizer who just spent some time in Minneapolis to observe, learn & share lessons from the organizing against ICE happening there. Kristin curates the comedy segment for GBUFO Fest, a 3 day punk rock festival that takes place every year in her home of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Kristin was also on the 2025 Van's Warped Tour with her Burn This Records buds. An eternal optimist, she has worked in progressive politics for the past fifteen years as a community and union organizer. That passion has brought her back to Green Bay, Wisconsin.
