Business On The Rise
Shamin has a knack for getting businesses un-stuck. She dipped her toe into the world of entreprenuership at age 12 - selling spices for her aunt at a bazaar. After selling out in 2 days, she never looked back. Shamin's now got her eyes set of making the Malaysian fishing industry - both sport and commercial fishing - more sustainable and she believes the key to this is in education. She's started The Milkfish Lady, a business and community dedicated to education and empowering the next generation of Malaysian anglers. In this episode, Franki and Shamin talk about: * The business advice her mum gave her aged 12 - "whatever you do, don't sit down" and how she's held that close to her. * The importance of long-term thinking when building sustainable businesses. * How community is key to success when you're trying to make change. Business On The Rise is produced in collaboration with On The Rise and ASBHive [https://www.asbhive.edu.my/] and supported by Maybank Trustees Berhad.
