Calls for Justice
Calls for Justice is an interactive podcast experiment, inspired by the intent of the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967: to provide and extend a platform for education and innovation through a diversity of voices and programming that reflect and serve the public. As a way of questioning justice in media, Calls for Justice democratizes both voice and ownership of the podcast, aiming to interrogate barriers in media such as gatekeeping and power hoarding; lack of ownership; discrimination; and access to resources. Visitors to Science Gallery Atlanta [https://www.atlanta.sciencegallery.com/] contributed their voice to the podcast by recording a response to prompts on justice in media. Each contributor with a published episode had the option to become a co-owner of the podcast, allowing them to be justly compensated for lending their voice to this project. Consider this an invitation to join the call.
