Part 1 – The Feeling of Shock and Betrayal When shock or betrayal happens, it doesn’t just touch your emotions — it lands in your body. It’s like your nervous system creates a snapshot of that moment and keeps it filed away, almost as if it just happened yesterday. I began to notice a pattern within myself. Every time I was reminded of that experience, my body reacted the same way — tightening, bracing, spiraling back into the pain. Even though I knew the truth in my mind… even though I knew what I heard God speak to me about those experiences… my body didn’t always agree. That’s when I realized something important: knowing the truth is different from embodying the truth. My mind could agree with God’s word. My spirit could feel the release. But my body — my nervous system — was still holding on to the memory of the shock. And until I helped my body let go, I found myself repeating the same cycle over and over again. What I’ve discovered is this: healing requires all of me. Mind, body, and spirit have to come into alignment with the truth for real transformation to happen. And that doesn’t come by accident — it comes through daily practice, intentionality, and learning how to re-circuit the nervous system so it no longer lives in the memory of the trauma. So, I’ve started walking this path — a path of rewiring my whole system. And I’d love for you to come with me as I share what I’m learning. It’s not always easy. In fact, sometimes it’s hard and uncomfortable. But I’m choosing to focus on the fun parts too — because there is joy in reclaiming your freedom.
