You deserve more than you allow yourself to have. Read that again, I’ll wait. Last episode, I made a point to give all of us some soft reminders. Now, I wanna give y’all some tuff love. It’s what my friends say I do best, so with respect to them, let’s get into it. It can be hard to follow your own advice sometimes, but that seems to be the best time to do it. I encourage all of you to show up for yourself in this way. You (& me, don’t you worry) haven’t really been there for ourselves lately, huh? Last episode, I talked about always choosing you and there are so many different ways we can do that. We can stop defending our own toxic behaviors, we can stop making excuses, we can be honest with ourselves, just as some examples. Don’t count out how much the little things can add up. There are some things that need a little more attention in this life, and showing up for ourselves is one of them. Choose You Always

In a world where selflessness is often praised, it is easy to lose sight of our own needs. I was away for a while thinking I had nothing to contribute for a moment, but I quite literally, was drowning in the world around me. Sometimes, we all need a reminder to step back and fill our own cup, worry about ourselves for a bit, and understand it is okay. I struggle with showing up for myself, but I am in a role that gives me the opportunity to lead by example. There is no shame in making mistakes and figuring out the next step forward. More often than not, we need real rest, mental rest, and there is nothing wrong with that. As hard as it gets sometimes, you are not having a bad life, as much as it may feel like it sometimes, often, etc. You will experience a change. Woah! What? A sibling special?! Y’all are in for a treat….sit back and relax because you are in for good vibes and some laughs. They both make y’all a promise, so listen closely.  One thing I always think about when it comes to my siblings, in general, but these two in particular is that we are only two years apart, but sometimes that makes all the difference. We talk about some of our fondest memories and what we look forward to from here on out, but we also get to talk about some of the stuff that we didn’t know the others thought. Being the youngest in the family definitely gave me a different outlook on our family dynamics, but I know at the end of the day, I can count on them to be there for me. Whether I am home or across the country, I know they got me, and vice versa. Like I said, yes we are a couple years apart, but we learned so much from each other, allowed ourselves to be inspired by one another, and above all, we really made sure we were on the same page about what it means to be family.
