A Contaminated Conscience

Hebrews 9:11-28 reveals Jesus Christ as our perfect High Priest who entered the heavenly sanctuary and secured eternal redemption through His own blood. Measuring Up: The Old Temple

In Matthew 17:14–20, Jesus healed a boy who was suffering severely after His disciples were unable to cast out a demon. Later, when the disciples asked why they had failed, Jesus explained that their lack of faith had hindered them. As Ulises Villegas notes, Jesus taught that even faith as small as a mustard seed can accomplish what seems impossible when it is rooted in and dependent upon God’s power.

Hebrews 8:1–13 is a powerful declaration that Jesus is the perfect High Priest who mediates a better covenant than the old Mosaic system. The earthly tabernacle and sacrifices were only shadows of the heavenly reality fulfilled in Christ.
