Coffee to Cocktails
This week we welcome guest, Kourtney McGowan, a certified doula, and author of the book "Help! I'm Black and I'm Pregnant: The Black Woman's Guide to a Better Pregnancy and Birth Outcome", to discuss the role of a doula during, and after pregnancy. We discuss the existing disparities for Black women in maternal healthcare, which are often overlooked, or even dismissed by many, even though the statistics do not lie. Beyond that Kourtney shares some wisdom on things women can do to keep their bodies and minds healthy while pregnant. As of this airing, Kourtney was invited as a guest on The Tamron Hall Show, to discuss medical gaslighting, as it relates to maternal health and treatment. Kristin and Nina bring lots of questions to the table, and Kourtney brings her valuable insights. Share this episode with your loved ones. Press Play! Kourtney's book "Help!
