June 22–28 “Hear Thou in Heaven Their Prayer” 2 Samuel 11–12; 1 Kings 3; 6–9; 11 Welcome back to Come, Follow Me Moms! This week we dive into the stories of David, Bathsheba, Solomon, wisdom, temptation, the temple, and what it means to keep our hearts centered on Christ. At first glance, these chapters may seem like a collection of unrelated stories. But as I studied, one question kept coming back to me: What is winning your heart? As moms, we aren't building kingdoms or temples of stone—but we are building testimonies, families, homes, and future generations. The small choices we make each day matter. In this episode we discuss: ✨ David's tragic choices and how hearts drift one decision at a time ✨ Why God's grace is bigger than our mistakes ✨ The lie so many moms believe: "I'm not enough" ✨ Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's powerful reminder that perfection is "eventually" ✨ Solomon's request for an "understanding heart" ✨ The beautiful story of the two mothers and Solomon's discernment ✨ Why motherhood requires sacrifice—and why it's worth it ✨ The purpose of Solomon's temple and what it teaches us about inviting God into our homes ✨ How keeping covenants helps us stay connected to Christ ✨ Solomon's downfall and the warning against letting other things slowly take first place in our hearts ✨ Simple ways busy moms can make room for Jesus every day Key Takeaways Hearts Don't Drift Overnight David's story reminds us that major mistakes often begin with small compromises. What small choices are drawing us closer to Christ? What small choices are pulling us away? Not in a shame-filled way—but in an awareness way. You Are Not Failing One of the highlights of this week's study is Elder Jeffrey R. Holland's talk: "Be Ye Therefore Perfect—Eventually" Satan often convinces good women that commandments and covenants are evidence that they are failing. But Christ never intended the gospel to be a source of self-condemnation. The Atonement was created for imperfect people who are trying. And that includes every mom listening. He asked for: "An understanding heart." What a beautiful prayer for mothers. Motherhood isn't a problem to solve. It's a relationship to navigate. Through Covenants, God Dwells With Us The temple isn't just about a building. It's about God's promise: "I will dwell among my people." God wants to dwell in our homes. In our marriages. In our motherhood. In our everyday lives. The temple reminds us to make room for Him. What Is Winning Your Heart? Solomon didn't lose his testimony overnight. His heart slowly turned toward other things. The same can happen to us. Not because we stop believing. But because our hearts become divided. Between: * Christ and comparison * Christ and perfectionism * Christ and social media * Christ and busyness * Christ and fear The question isn't: Do I love God? The question is: Is He still first? This Week's Invitation Instead of trying harder or doing more, ask yourself: ✨ What am I building? ✨ What is winning my heart? ✨ What small thing can I do this week to make a little more room for Jesus in my home? Maybe it's: * One prayer * One scripture * One temple trip * One act of repentance * One moment of stillness Because hearts don't drift overnight. And they don't return overnight either. They return one small choice at a time. I'd Love to Hear From You! One of my favorite parts of studying Come, Follow Me is hearing what the Spirit teaches other people.
