Before the Breaking Point: Proactive Mental Health for Veterans & First Responders

Army veteran, therapist, and founder of High Ground Leadership & Resilience Consulting, Joshua Deisinger joins Connections to unpack what repeated critical incidents can do to the mind—and how that impact often follows people home. Joshua explains dissociation in plain language, introduces the idea of “still images,” and shares why mental health support should be before, during, and after the hardest moments—not only in response. We also explore stigma, confidentiality, and what it looks like to build resilience through trust, communication, and a person-centered approach.
