241. Faith - Divine Intimacy Meditations
Meditation 241, “Faith,” describes this virtue as a mystical entry into the Divine way of knowing. Elevating the intellect above sensory perceptions, faith acts as a celestial clarity and a “beginning of eternal life,” as St. Thomas Aquinas teaches. This participation in the Trinity's interior life shifts our focus from passing shadows to the transcendent, allowing the soul to share in the thoughts of its Creator. This theological elevation finds its testing ground in daily duty, where the believer walks in a stripped, unadorned trust. Even when the senses feel obscured by God’s blinding radiance, one can find Him by remaining recollected while performing ordinary tasks. By embracing this obscure communion during the workday, the soul transforms its perspective and prepares for the Beatific Vision.
