Conversations@MIT
Joanne Stubbe is MIT's Novartis Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus. In this conversation at Catalyst, we learn about Professor Stubbe's National Medal of Science winning career and the overt sexism she faced, starting as the only female graduate student in U.C. Berkeley's chemistry department in the 1960s to becoming MIT's first female tenured chemistry professor in 1987. Professor Stubbe's story is truly inspirational, and through it all, her overwhelming passion for science shines through. Interviewed by Subhash and Michelle on May 10, 2022.
