Descripción

The central theme of this episode is the imperative recognition that one is not inherently falling behind by opting to do less; rather, one is aligning with the pace that God has ordained. We delve into the critical distinction between busyness and true diligence, elucidating how the former often masquerades as productivity, leading to burnout and a sense of overwhelm. Whitney shares her own experiences from a taxing season in 2024, emphasizing the need for intentionality in our pursuits. Furthermore, we explore the concept of scope creep, detailing how it can subtly infiltrate one’s calling, and ultimately outline a practical framework for identifying the three pivotal actions that will substantially advance one’s business endeavors. This discourse serves as an invitation to reflect on the essence of one's commitments and the significance of prioritizing what truly matters in one's journey. In this engaging episode of Hear God, Then Build, Whitney confronts the pervasive myth that constant busyness equates to productivity and fulfillment. She shares her personal narrative of burnout from the previous year, highlighting the struggle many face when overwhelmed by commitments that do not contribute to their divine purpose. Whitney introduces the concept of 'diligence' versus 'hustle', clarifying that God does not call us to a life of frenetic activity but rather to a path marked by intentionality and clarity. By illuminating the pitfalls of scope creep—where one inadvertently takes on more than intended—Whitney encourages her listeners to reflect on their current obligations and prioritize their efforts. The episode serves as a powerful reminder that doing less can often lead to more meaningful outcomes, prompting women to align their actions with their true callings and to embrace a pace that sustains their well-being and purpose. Takeaways: * Diligence is a strategic approach to tasks, distinct from mere busyness, fostering meaningful progress. * Saying yes to every opportunity can detract from one's true calling and divine assignments. * Scope creep in one's calling can manifest through undefined responsibilities and a lack of boundaries. * It is imperative to discern which tasks genuinely advance your goals, rather than succumbing to overwhelming obligations. * Establishing boundaries is essential to maintain focus and prevent burnout in a demanding environment. * Understanding that doing less does not equate to falling behind is crucial for sustainable growth. 14: Is Your Backend a Mess or Have You Just Gotten Used to It?

Hey homegirl. Let me ask you something real. When is the last time you felt on top of things? Not surviving the week. Actually on top of it. In this episode we are getting into operational chaos. Not a busy season. Not the cost of doing business. The quiet chaos that has been running in the background so long you stopped noticing it was even there. Here is what it tends to look like. You wake up and before your feet hit the floor your brain is already running through everything you did not get done. The to do list never gets shorter, it just shuffles. Client emails slip through the cracks. Your onboarding lives in your head and changes every single time depending on how overwhelmed you are that week. You are doing admin at 11pm because there was no room for it during the day. Your inbox has basically become your to do list. And you have started three project management tools and not one of them stuck. Here is the truth I want you to sit with. It was never about the tool. I have run million dollar projects on a simple spreadsheet. The tool is not your problem. The missing structure is. God did not give you the vision so you could run it into the ground. Your calling is real and it is yours. But a calling without structure will lead you straight to exhaustion. Peace is not a luxury. Galatians 5 calls it a fruit of the Spirit. And Proverbs 16:3 says commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established. You cannot commit chaos to God and expect Him to bless the mess. He is not the author of confusion. Most of us built our businesses on survival, not on scale. And what got you here is not what carries you where God is taking you next. It is time to stop surviving and start building with order and peace. QUICK SELF CHECK Rate each one from 1 to 5. One means barely true. Five means this is literally my life. 1. I feel like I am always behind no matter how much I work. 2. My business would struggle if I had to step away for even a few days. 3. I could not walk someone through my process without a lot of explaining. 4. My systems work sometimes, but not consistently. 5. I spend most of my week reacting instead of planning. If you gave yourself a 3 or higher on most of these, you are not just busy. You have got some real gaps. And that is okay. That is what we fix. THE ONE QUESTION TO SIT WITH Is the way I am running my business right now something I could sustain for the next three years? Even the next year? If your honest answer is no, that is God trying to get your attention. SCRIPTURE REFERENCED Galatians 5 (the fruit of the Spirit). Proverbs 16:3. episode 11. When Life Is Too Loud to Hear God artwork

11. When Life Is Too Loud to Hear God

Episode Summary Your life is loud. That is not new, and it is not changing anytime soon. But noise is not actually the problem. Undisciplined attention is. In this episode, Whitney gets real about what it looks like to be in the loudest season of your life and still carve out intentional space to hear God. She shares what happened the first time she heard God speak audibly, what she learned from a seven-day stillness challenge, and three practical points to help you start creating the conditions for God to actually speak to you. In this episode, we cover * Why God is not going to compete with your notifications, your group chats, or your Netflix lineup * The difference between being too busy and being too distracted * Why noise is not the real problem and what undisciplined attention actually looks like * What happened the first time Whitney heard God speak audibly and what the moment had in common with every other time he has spoken clearly * How to create a consistent time, place, and posture for hearing God * Why you need to write down what you hear before life sweeps it away * Habakkuk 2:2 and why your assignment is too important to leave to memory * The 10 minute challenge Whitney wants you to do every single day this week * Why the car, the morning, and noise canceling headphones are more powerful than you think Three Key Points From This Episode Point 1 — Noise is not the problem. Undisciplined attention is. You can be in the loudest season of your life and still find 10 minutes of intentional quiet. The issue is not that life is loud. The issue is that you have not decided where your attention goes. Point 2 — Create the conditions to hear. A consistent time. A consistent place. A consistent posture of expectation. That routine tells your brain and your spirit that this is sacred. It gets easier, and the connection gets clearer over time. Point 3 — Capture what you hear. Write it down. You are not going to remember it. Life will happen, and it will be gone. Habakkuk 2:2 says write the vision. Your assignment is too important to leave to memory. Your Challenge This Week Identify one 10-minute window every single day this week. At the same time. Same spot. Put it on your calendar right now like an appointment. Put your phone down. No podcast, no music, no nothing. Sit in the quiet and ask God one question: What do you want me to know today? Write down whatever comes up. If nothing comes, that is okay. Do it again tomorrow. Scripture Referenced Habakkuk 2:2 — Write the vision and make it plain. 1 Kings 19 — God was not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire. He was in the still small voice. 10. The Bible Isn't Hard Nobody Ever Taught You How to Actually Read It

In this episode of Conversations with the Courageous Christian Homegirl, we are talking about why so many of us grew up in church and still feel lost every time we open the Bible. If you have ever read the same verse 50-11 times and closed your Bible more confused than when you opened it, this one is for you. It is not a faith problem. It is a method problem. WHAT WE COVER: → Why the church missed us when it came to actually teaching us how to study scripture → Why the version of the Bible you are reading matters more than you think → Three questions that turn Bible reading into a real conversation with God → Why your quiet time should not be a separate department from everything else going on in your life → How to come to God messy and still get met THE THREE QUESTIONS: 1. What does this tell me about God? 2. What does this tell me about people? 3. What does this have to do with my life? YOUR CHALLENGE THIS WEEK: Pick one book. Read one chapter. Answer the three questions. Write it down. That is it.
