Practice Oneness

The Holy Spirit makes us one with God, other people, and the whole of creation. Awareness of that unity is a gift, but there are things we can do to open ourselves to experiencing that gift more fully. Serving other people and connecting with the natural world are two ways we can easily do this. Both remind us that we are one with the people and the world around us. Watch the video HERE. The Trinity: What Difference Does It Make?

On Trinity Sunday, we explore one of Christianity’s deepest mysteries by asking a simple question: What difference does it make? Rather than trying to explain the Trinity, we discover how the church came to understand God as Creator, Christ, and Spirit. If God’s deepest nature is relationship and love, what might that mean for how we live with one another? Spirit of Unity

The Holy Spirit makes us one with God and each other, giving us a unity that runs deeper than feelings or our rational minds. Many mystics and others with profound experiences of God down through the centuries have given voice to our oneness in the Spirit. This is an important witness we Christians can offer a world which is so divided and polarized. Rather than beginning with separation and trying to bridge the chasm, we should begin with our fundamental unity and move from there.  Watch te video HERE. Spirit of Tenderness

Pentecost is rightly an exuberant celebration which highlights the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit. But we do not want to forget that a primary role of the Holy Spirit is to comfort us. Jesus tells his disciples that he will send the Spirit to console them after he is no longer visibly present.The Spirit continues to comfort us today, as we deal with sadness, loss, and the inevitable challenges of life. Trust the Gift

While Pentecost often brings to mind the various gifts of the Holy Spirit, we don’t want to lose sight of the fact that the greatest gift of all is the Spirit herself. We all have the Spirit by virtue of our baptism, which means that we have the fullness of the Blessed Trinity living within us. Growing in faith means learning to trust in that gift, living as if we have the infinite love and power of God alive in us to help us in all the ways we need. Trusting in God’s Presence within us is the best way we can give thanks for that Presence. Watch the video HERE.
