In the second episode of "Cybersecurity In The Modern World", we talk about K-12 schooling systems and how cyber criminals have focused their attention to attack these institutions. We talk about hackers’ motivations, and the various attack tactics, such as crypto mining, ransomware and phishing attacks. Keith Kruger, CEO of a ed-tech non profit, and Jeff Pelzel, superintendent of Newhall School District, in Santa Clarita, California, are some of the professionals featured in this episode. They provided some great insight into this topic, as they talked about real situations where schools were hacked, and Superintendent Pelzel gave his firsthand experience on what he did after his own school district was hit with a cyber attack. Episode 6 - National Security

Welcome to the sixth, and final episode, of "Cybersecurity In The Modern World". In this episode, we go over National Security, and how it intersects with cybersecurity. We discuss nation state attackers, talk about how foreign countries work to attack other countries, and the implications that come with weak cybersecurity when it relates to the national security landscape. We are fortunate enough to receive insights from Vincent Scott, Founder and President of Defense Cybersecurity Group, and Lauren Zabierek, Director of the Cyber Security Project at Harvard's Belfer Center. Episode 4 - Home Network

Our fourth episode deals with the different ways that hackers can expose your home network. Unsecured routers, IoT devices and laptops are some of the devices hackers can gain unauthorized access to. From there, they can move through your network and take private information, or even lock your devices until you pay a certain sum. Dr. Eric Cole—Founder of Secure Anchor, Former Chief Scientist at Lockheed Martin, and Former member of the Commission on Cyber Security under President Obama—and Prebh Dev Singh—Senior Product Manager at Barracuda—are some of the accomplished security professionals featured in this episode. Episode 3 - IoT Devices

In the third episode of "Cybersecurity In The Modern World", we take a deeper look at IoT (Internet of Things) devices. Due to the high number of IoT devices in circulation right now, from Ring security cameras, to Google Homes and Amazon Alexas, hackers have a lot of options to choose from and attack, and since most people don’t have the proper security set up on their devices, it makes it easier for cyber criminals to find an opening and exploit them. We’ll listen to input from Chief Security Officer of Google DeepMind, Vijay Bolina, and Professor Banafa, media expert on IoT, Blockchain, AI, Cybersecurity & College of Engineering Professor at San Jose State University.
