Single Track Flyers, Kids on Mountain Bikes!
Link to the Single Track Flyers website: http://www.singletrackflyers.org/ [http://www.singletrackflyers.org/] Link to their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/singletrackflyers [https://www.facebook.com/singletrackflyers] Today we're talking with several folks who are instrumental to the workings of a great kids biking program called Single Track Flyers. My interview with current board president, Elizabeth Scott, provides the main narrative, but there are many insights to the program's success provided by others. Liz MIller is one of the organization's co-founders and also a past president. Michelle Jarvie-Eggart and her kids Michael and Robert really help us understand what happens at riding sessions and convey the joy of riding, and especially riding with children. I must say that Michael and Robert are the real stars of the show ... you'll see what I mean when you listen! :-)

Tour da Yoop Eh; Safe Cycling on U.P. Roads. This ain't a race!
Today's discussion is with the founder and two other organizers of the Tour da Yoop, Eh cycling events. Our guests are James Studinger, Dan Dalquist, and Gary Perala and they will help listeners learn about several Tour da Yoop, Eh cycling opportunities. The "main event" is a 10-day, 1200 mile, SAG supported ride on the beautiful, safe and quiet roads all around Michigan's Upper Peninsula. This year's annual ride will begin on Friday, 28 July, and end on Sunday, 6 August. If you're interested in this one, start planning, and register soon! You'll become part of a great biking community, can help support U.P. families dealing with childhood cancer, and earn the coveted red plaid bike jersey. BUT wait, there's more! ... There are several other Tour da Yoop Eh rides, which can be done anytime, by anyone interested in bike touring. These other rides are self supported and are done whenever you like at your own pace. They can be completed in one day - one week - or can last more than a month. Each of these event has its own unique jersey too! The excellent event website is: https://www.tourdayoopeh.com/ [https://www.tourdayoopeh.com/] To learn more about road bike safety in the U.P. and elsewhere, please visit the events webpage: https://www.tourdayoopeh.com/bike-safety [https://www.tourdayoopeh.com/bike-safety] James has also created an excellent pamphlet with specific recommendations to improve road riding in the U.P. It can be found at the website above and HERE [https://www.tourdayoopeh.com/s/18-in-the-UP.pdf].
Talking with Emily Louise Oppliger of Specialized Bicycles
Talking with Aaron Rogers of Rock Solid Trail Contracting
Today we're talking with Aaron Rogers, the founder and owner of Rock Solid Trail Contracting. If you are into MTBing at all - you’ve more than likely either ridden on trails he’s built, or heard about some of them. And this is true whether you ride near our home-base in the Keweenaw Peninsula, or in many other MTB meccas in the country. I found him working on trails (no surprise) in Copper Harbor, but convinced him to quit for a few minutes to talk with us about how his work is making a difference to the Cycling UP Hear. Check out Rock Solid's website HERE [https://rocksolidtrails.com/]
