Descripción

We grew up as immigrant kids starting from nothing — no furniture, strict but loving parents, and a constant need to stay out of trouble in order to survive. We learned early how to adapt, how to be tough, and how to keep going even when the odds weren’t in our favor. From a rough neighborhood and challenging schools to building careers, pursuing education, and finding purpose, our paths were shaped by resilience. For my brother, that journey included military service and surviving cancer — a life-altering experience that redefined what strength, success, and gratitude truly mean. In this episode, we talk about: • Growing up poor and learning to survive early • Immigration, assimilation, and identity • Strict parenting as protection, not punishment • Brotherhood, discipline, and the military • Facing cancer and redefining strength • Lessons learned from hardship and survival • Where we’re headed next — with intention and purpose This conversation is about setbacks, comebacks, and the power of family. It’s proof that where you start does not get to decide where you finish. If this episode resonates, consider sharing it with someone who needs hope today. No One Warns Mothers: What No One Tells You About Postpartum Mental Health

Everyone prepares you for the baby… but almost no one prepares you for what happens to you. In this episode of Deep Naked Thoughts, Victoria shares her personal experience with postpartum depression and the realities many parents face after having a baby. We talk about the difference between baby blues and postpartum depression, how hormonal changes impact mental health, and how to recognize when professional help may be needed. We also explore postpartum anxiety, the importance of sleep and support systems, identity shifts in motherhood, and why many parents quietly grieve the life they had before becoming a parent. Victoria shares practical grounding techniques, ways couples can better support each other, and why emotional awareness tools like the feelings wheel can help parents better understand what they’re experiencing. This conversation also shines a light on something rarely discussed — fathers can experience postpartum depression too. If you’re a new parent, expecting parent, or supporting someone through this transition, this episode offers insight, validation, and practical tools for navigating mental health after having a baby. #PostpartumDepression#PostpartumMentalHealth#MotherhoodJourney#NewMomLife#ParentMentalHealth#PostpartumAnxiety#MotherhoodUnfiltered#MentalHealthMatters#NewParentSupport#MomLifeRealTalk#FatherhoodMatters#ParentingReality#DeepNakedThoughts#EmotionalWellness#HealingJourney
