Let’s talk about the top foods to avoid if you have a hypothyroid condition. Goitrogens are things that cause a goiter. A goiter is an enlarged thyroid gland. Goitrogenic foods interfere with certain enzymes and hormones and can lead to a goiter. Foods to avoid for hypothyroidism: 1. Cassava 2. Lima beans 3. Sorgum 4. Sweet potato 5. Flax seed 6. Cruciferous vegetables 7. Millet 8. Soy products 9. Onions 10. Gluten If you have cruciferous vegetables in very small amounts (less than five ounces), it shouldn’t be a problem. Cooking, steaming, or fermenting cruciferous vegetables also reduces their goitrogenic effect. Having sea kelp as well may also help. You would also want to avoid anything that depletes selenium, iodine, iron, and vitamin A. Good sources of selenium and iodine: • Seafood • Sea kelp • Sea salt Good sources of iron: • Red meat • Animal products Good sources of vitamin A: • Egg yolks • Butter • Cod liver oil • Beef liver Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. QUIT Eating for 3 Days

What happens to your body during a 3-day fast? Extended fasting is one of the best things you can do for your health! In this video, we’ll discuss the benefits of fasting, and if you’re confused about how to fast, my fasting tips have you covered! Watch this episode next: Reset Your Body in 5 Days (With Zero Food) [https://open.spotify.com/episode/4oKZ046rIAE3zwxDb06ZaO] 0:00 Introduction: Not eating for 3 days 0:10 72-hour fast benefits 1:00 Fasting benefits for cancer 2:25 Fasting tips 5:09 Extended fasting and exercise Watch the Full Interview Here: ▶️    • Tried to Starve Myself to Death, But Somet... DATA: https://type1keto.com/about-dr-ian-lake/ Become an intermittent fasting pro with this FREE mini course: https://drbrg.co/40ixONO Today, we’re going to talk about the benefits of fasting. Many people describe feelings of euphoria and bliss after a 3-day fast. Fasting is often done for spiritual or mental benefits, and it’s the only way to achieve deep cleaning in the body. Extended fasting is also a great way to exercise willpower. One of the most significant risk factors for cancer is age, due to the cumulative damage to your cells. Cancer tends to grow into areas of inflammation and low oxygen, and fasting is one of the most potent ways to reduce inflammation. Cancer can not live on the ketones that come from fasting. Ketones support your brain and even activate genes that extend your life. Extended fasting may prevent cancer, so aim for a monthly 72-hour fast. Fasting significantly lowers insulin. Your body can not grow a tumor when insulin is low. To further reduce cancer risk, increase oxygen by going for long walks while fasting. Exercise significantly increases oxygen. Growth hormone also increases while you’re fasting, which helps you burn fat and preserve muscle. Apply the following fasting tips for the easiest transition and the most fasting benefits: •Increase fat intake 1 to 2 days before fasting •Practice intermittent fasting regularly before trying extended fasting •Consume plenty of electrolytes •Consume sea salt •Don't break your fast with sweets or carbs •Try fermented vegetables, eggs, or bone broth to break your fast •Slowly wake up your digestive system after fasting If you’re prone to gallstones, you could experience increased bile sludge while fasting. TUDCA keeps bile thin and flowing properly through the ducts. Take 2 TUDCA twice daily. Don’t do extended fasting if you’re pregnant or lactating! Refined sugars, junk food, and late-night snacking can interfere with sleep. If you want better sleep, eat earlier in the day. For the best sleep, have your last meal around 5:00 p.m. If you're waking at night to urinate, intermittent fasting and a low-carb diet can help. Inflammatory foods, such as grains, can also interfere with your sleep. High carbohydrate diets increase your need for vitamin B1, which reduces anxiety and tension. Kefir contains probiotics that can build up serotonin, which turns into melatonin, the sleep hormone. L. reuteri yogurt also contains helpful probiotics to improve sleep. Consume ½ cup daily; it doesn't have to be before bed. Try the following tips for better sleep to help you wake up early feeling refreshed and energized: •Sleep in a 65 to 68 degree room •If you have cold feet at night, try sleeping with warm socks •Plants in the room can help oxygenate the space and improve sleep •The darker the environment, the better Light inhibits melatonin. Blue light from your computer or phone stimulates energy, while infrared lighting helps you wind down. Around 50% of the sun’s rays are infrared and can penetrate several inches into the body. Infrared light helps you make vitamin D, which is vital for sleep and increasing melatonin. Since culture has pushed us away from sun exposure, sleep quality has declined. Alcohol will make you feel tired, but it interferes with deep sleep. Caffeine, tea, coffee, and chocolate act as stimulants and prevent sleep. Increase exercise to improve sleep. Stretching and massage can also help you relax. Here are a few more deep sleep tips that can significantly improve sleep quality: •Sleep on your right side •Focus on nose breathing •Reduce stress for better sleep •Ensure adequate sodium intake to maintain healthy cortisol levels •Increase potassium intake •Consume magnesium glycinate powder 1 hour before bed •Sound machine •Binaural beats •Use essential oils (Spikenard, vetiver) Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Today we’re going to talk about the link between digestion and sleep. I’m also going to give you some helpful tips for better sleep. You need enough melatonin to get to sleep and stay asleep. But, melatonin supplements may not be the best idea because you’re not fixing the root cause of your sleep problem. Melatonin comes from another hormone called serotonin—90% of the serotonin in your body is made with the help of your friendly bacteria. Your friendly bacteria turns tryptophan into serotonin and then converts it to melatonin. But, you also need vitamin B6 to help with these conversions. If you have trouble sleeping, it’s important to focus on supporting your microbiome. Here are a few fantastic ways to support the microbiome so you can start sleeping better: • Take probiotics  • Take vitamin B6 • Consume kefir  • Consume fermented foods (sauerkraut or kimchi) • Consume fiber from vegetables (unless you have a gut problem) If you do intermittent fasting, you may start getting better sleep if you shift your eating window to earlier in the day. This means you would have breakfast and your second meal no later than 3 pm. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
