Let’s talk about attention deficit disorder and what I consider the best remedy for ADD or ADHD. Some people may have a difficult time transitioning from their medication to this natural remedy for ADD. This transition should be done gradually and with the help of a doctor. ADD, or ADHD, has nothing to do with someone’s intelligence—we’re talking about a lack of attention and, in some cases, hyperactivity. Many different things can play into someone having problems with attention, like overstimulation or difficulty in school. There is also a physical component involved when someone has ADD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The brain hogs energy, and it takes a lot of energy in the brain for someone to pay attention to something. If your brain is tired, you won’t be able to concentrate for very long. Running your brain on ketones can give you energy. Ketones are a cleaner, more efficient fuel source for the brain. The way to feed your brain ketones is to lower your carbohydrates. Cutting grains out of your diet is essential. Gluten can affect your gut, which could then affect your brain, leading to brain fog. Here are a few more things that can affect your brain and may cause a short attention span: • Allergies • Lack of sleep • Too much caffeine • Nutrient deficiencies The best ways to improve your attention naturally: 1. Take DMAE 2. Get on the ketogenic diet and do intermittent fasting 3. Consume plenty of vitamin B1, magnesium, potassium, and omega-3 fatty acids Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5573220 0:00 Introduction: The worst things for your brain 10:00 Grass-fed beef vs. grain-fed beef for your brain 15:35 Learn more about brain health! Today I’m going to share some of the top things that can severely affect your brain. Top things that negatively affect your brain: 1. Chronic exposure to bad news 2. Toxic personalities 3. Spending too much time inside 4. Low-fat, low-cholesterol diets 5. High-grain diets 6. High-sugar diets 7. Low-stress to no stress at all 8. High-stress 9. Snacking 10. Things that decrease gut microbes 11. Consuming grain-fed animal products One of the most surprising things on this list is grain-fed animal products. I recently participated in an interesting beef nutrient-density study. This study compared the beef from my farm to grass-fed beef and grain-fed beef, looking at factors that contribute to health and disease. It turns out that the beef from my farm was significantly higher in phytonutrients and vitamin B3. It also had a fantastic omega-6 fatty acid to omega-3 fatty acid ratio. Not only that, but the beef I sent was low in glycation end-products and homocysteine, which are both harmful to the brain. Grass-fed beef also did much better than grain-fed beef when looking at these same factors. My beef may have done best because I raise my cattle on pastures with a diversity of weeds for the cows to consume. Overall, it’s crucial to consume grass-fed, grass-finished beef or 100% grass-fed beef to support your brain and your overall health. Sugar is bad. But, there is a food that is way worse than sugar. Certain factors can shorten your lifespan—these factors include: • Severe obesity • Heavy smoking • Vegetable oils • Physical inactivity • Heavy drinking • Moderate smoking • Excess sugar • Processed meat • Air pollution • Red meat • Sodium Vegetable oils are one of the most dangerous foods you could include in your diet—even worse than sugar. Vegetable oil isn’t really oil from vegetables. It’s mostly made from seeds, legumes, and grains. Key points on vegetable oils: 1. Over 30% of our calories come from vegetable oil 2. They contain highly inflammatory omega-6 fatty acids 3. Restaurants typically use a lot of vegetable oil 4. One study on unsaturated fats (vegetable oil) found that there was an increased death rate of all causes by 62% when compared to saturated fats 5. Only severe obesity and heavy smoking are more dangerous than vegetable oils 6. One study showed an 86% increase in heart attacks, and after seven years, the number of strokes and heart attacks increased by seven times 7. One study showed an increased risk of cancer by 82% 8. Deep-fried foods are some of the worst because the oil is often reheated Consider replacing your vegetable oils with olive oil, butter, ghee, coconut oil, tallow, or lard. VITAMIN D TEST KIT: 🛒 https://drbrg.co/4hSPDtr 🛒 https://drbrg.co/41vAs3S Vitamin D is important but confusing. Find out how to boost vitamin D and much more. 0:00 Introduction: Vitamin D levels explained 1:40 Understanding the vitamin D receptor 6:25 How to boost low vitamin D 8:45 Learn more about vitamin D toxicity! Today I want to cover what you really need to know about vitamin D. The RDA for vitamin D is 600 IU for adults under 70 years old. But, the studies that support this amount are outdated. Vitamin D reaches the cells through vitamin D receptors. Unfortunately, you can’t use blood tests to determine what’s happening in the cells, and various problems can occur with these receptors. For example, about 30% of the population has a genetic problem with the vitamin D receptor, meaning they have a difficult time getting the vitamin D they need. Many health conditions are directly related to a problem with the vitamin D receptor, including: • Autoimmune diseases • Breast cancer and colon cancer • Certain cardiovascular diseases • Certain cognitive diseases • Diabetes (type 1 and type 2) • Metabolic syndrome • High blood pressure • Tuberculosis and certain infections • Lyme disease • Hair loss • Crohn’s disease • Respiratory infections • Asthma and food allergies • Low back pain • Vitiligo • Osteoporosis • COPD • PTSD How to increase vitamin D: 1. Take more vitamin D 2. Take your vitamin D supplements inconsistently 3. Take magnesium 4. Take zinc 5. Take bile salts 6. Consume omega-3 fatty acids 7. Consume vitamin K2 8. Take resveratrol, curcumin, quercetin, and sulforaphane 9. Consume butyrate (vegetables) When using high doses of vitamin D, always check with your doctor. High doses of vitamin D can increase blood/urine calcium levels resulting in calcium deposits in the kidney. Also drink 2.5 liters of fluids per day, take cofactors with vitamin D (magnesium, K2 and zinc) and have your doctor monitor your PTH, vitamin D blood levels and creatinine and avoid excess calcium supplements of high calcium foods when taking vitamin D levels over 10,000 IUs.
