Descripción

Pastor Nathan continues our current series by exploring the first half of Proverbs 8, where wisdom is vividly personified as a woman calling out to all of humankind from the city gates. He emphasizes that pursuing wisdom is a relational lifestyle grounded in a connection with God, rather than a rigid formula or a simple mental achievement.   Jesus is the ultimate wisdom of God, and true discernment requires turning our hearts and affections toward Him.  Watch full video of this sermon on our YouTube channel [https://youtu.be/FVwddDImp8w] Visit our website [https://www.eastendfellowship.org/]Sign Up for our Newsletter [https://www.eastendfellowship.org/weekly-newsletter]Follow us on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/eastendfellowship/?hl=en] Follow us on Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/EEFRVA/]

The Creatively Destructive Voice of God

Continuing in the sermon series "Ears to Hear,"  Pastor Nathan explores the striking imagery of Psalm 29. He challenges us to move beyond a downsized and domesticated view of God, who only offers compassion without conviction.  Nathan emphasizes that truly hearing God requires a "posture of openness" to however He chooses to show up, even when His voice sounds like thunder and shakes the conceptual boxes we place Him in. Drawing from Deuteronomy 11, he emphasizes the biblical command to physically and mentally bind God's words to one's life as a constant reminder of faith. Encouraging us to take a good, long look at the difference between hearing and listening. The One Thing

Continuing our series "Ears to Hear", Kendra Yoder makes her preaching debut with the powerful narrative of Mary and Martha found in Luke 10.  Kendra contrasts the difference between the two sisters approach to Jesus. While Martha is consumed by the burden of hospitality and the desire to prove her worth through labor, Mary chooses the "one thing needed" by listening to Jesus, despite the social risks involved.  Jesus does not demand extravagant service or the fulfillment of rigid cultural expectations; instead, he offers a rhythm of grace that prioritizes relationship over earning merit.
