Descripción

Hey Human!! This episode looks at what perfectionism actually does once it is operating full force, where it came from, and what it costs. This episode talks about how it moves through your creativity, your relationships, your presence, quietly replacing the original why with the management of outcomes. Blayne uses the businessman and the king from The Little Prince to show what that looks like from the inside, and shares honestly about her own experience this month, writing a podcast about letting go of perfectionism while perfectionism was running the whole production. This is the Understanding episode. The one where the pattern becomes visible enough to work with. Affirmations for the parts of you that are learning to update what no longer requires that level of protection. So glad you're here. With Kindness, B.

Ep. 26 Perfectionism I Affirmations for Building a Healthier You

Hey Human! Whew. We. Did. It. This is the final episode of our May series on perfectionism and the last episode of Season One of Everyday Affirmations. We started this season last year talking about fear and anger. We moved through self doubt, procrastination, and now we arrive here, on the thing that threads through all of them. Perfectionism as a control strategy. Not vanity. Not high standards. The attempt to manage outcomes in order to feel safe. This week we put everything into practice. We talk about changing the metric, what it actually looks like to reroute perfectionism toward something that belongs to you, and why the tool itself was never the problem. Thank you for building this with me. Season Two returns in August. For now, keep returning to the episodes and you can look forward to some summer fun with affirmations. So very glad you're here. So glad you stayed. With Kindness. B

Ep. 24 Perfectionism I Affirmations for the Stories We Carry

Hey Human! This episode goes into the origin story. Not your mother's. Yours. The moment, the season, the room you were standing in when you decided that need was not safe to show. Blayne shares her own story, growing up as the only member of her biological family without schizophrenia, and what that environment taught her about asking for things. She connects it to the rose in The Little Prince, the character who arranged herself into something that looked like it required nothing, and what that arrangement actually costs the one doing it. This is the episode for anyone who has ever performed not needing anything while quietly hoping someone would see through it. Affirmations for the versions of you that were doing their best to make sense of things. So glad you're here. With Kindness, B.
