David discussed various aspects of the intersection of family law and the United States Constitution, principally revolving around case law from the Supreme Court of the United States. David discussed the importance of marriage as a fundamental constitutional right, the fundamental right to raise your children, the fundamental right to procreate, the right to privacy within abortion, and personal jurisdiction and full faith and credit related to family court judgments entered in different states than where another party is located.

This show aired on September 10, 2017. It was hosted by David Enevoldsen, a partner with Family Law Guys. David discussed how a non-parent that may have a relationship with a child (such as a grandparent or step-parent or other party) can obtain legal decision-making rights or visitation with that child. He also discussed the concept of an “in loco parentis” relationship, and the fundamental constitutional right to rear children and how that can impact a third party’s efforts to procure visitation.
