Portada del episodio #7 An alternative way to look at dry-land Waterpolo training (with Laura Aarts)

Descripción

In today's episode, together with the Dutch National Team goalie Laura Aarts, we talk about dry-land training for Waterpolo athletes.  Laura is only 26 years old but with more then 15 years of waterpolo experience. She is currently playing for the Dutch National Team as well as for the Hungarian club DFVE, while aiming to the Olympics of Paris 2024. She is also a physiotherapy student and a trainer (inside and outside the pool). Her curiosity and knowledge about the human body plus the many years experience in the Waterpolo world, bring her here with us.  Today we talk about dry-land training, how it is currently and what - in our vision - could be improved. We try to give a different angle to the way we look at this incredibly demanding and intense sport and how we could potentially, create a more resilient athlete.  We talk about coordination and stability as two main components that need to be trained for athletes so to prevent injuries. Also, we look at how important is 'strength training' and how we could make it even more functional through alternative ways.  .. and much more in this episode with Laura. A MUST listen.  With love, Sara

#8 Breath with ease, move with ease - episode with Gary Caws

Gray is a Oxygen Advantage Master Instructor and running coach.  I met Gray during my Oxygen Advantage certification in London, where he guided us through the power of breathwork as well as interesting insights of QiGong. I really wanted to get on with this interview to explore more the relation between movement and breath, especially running.  I often hear 'I hate running, I am always out of breath!' - is that an uncomfortable feeling we need to get used to or are we approaching running in the 'wrong way'? As Gray says: 'We can get out of breath (for lack of better wording) but we should not lose control of it'. Gray tells us how we can connect with our breath while running, what it means 'ease of movement' and what are the early signs of dysfunctional breathing at the beginning of a run. Shall we slow down or 'go through it'? I would love to hear your feedback. Please, feel free to share it! With love, Sara

#6 Living life more authentically (Inner Child Work), with Ra Van Den Berg

What does it mean to be authentic in life? In today's episode we will talk to Ra Van Den Berg about that and much more.  Ra is an holistic life coach (currently studying at Elementum Coaching Institute), who supports people to reconnect to their inner guidance, to access more creativity and cultivate trust.  Ra will share about her own experience and what to her means to live authentically; we will also talk about Inner Child Work - what it is and how it can help and support you in becoming more self-aware. Together with Ra, we will navigate the concept of trust and what it means to feel safety within our body.  We will also try to give our perspective on 'not knowing what to do in life' and how we personally navigate that.  How can you get in contact with Ra?
