When he was out of prison, he was a threat - running a criminal enterprise, making big money as a car salesman, which allowed him to hide the other money he was making illegally. All that money was gas on fire. Kyle wasn't just destroying his own life. He was a flaming tornado of destruction, wiping out other people's lives.
