And Friends: https://linktr.ee/andfriendsglasgow [https://linktr.ee/andfriendsglasgow] Fight Me: https://linktr.ee/fightmefilm [https://linktr.ee/fightmefilm] Our first guest on the podcast is Catriona MacLeod. Cat is a writer and director of theatre and film, originally from the Isle of Mull but currently based in Glasgow. She is part of the first ever Sean Connery Talent Lab, and the founder of new scratch night and development platform, And Friends. Cat and I talked about her experience as a theatre director in Scotland, about The Edinburgh Fringe, and why she thinks it was easier to take something there ten years ago rather than now, and about her passion for spaces for new work.

104 - Raisah Ahmed

Fight Me: https://linktr.ee/fightmefilm [https://linktr.ee/fightmefilm] This week’s guest is Raisah Ahmed, writer and director of film and television, and chair of the Industry Advisory Committee for the Glasgow Short Film Festival. She has a feature film in development with Film4 and is adapting Ayesha’s Gift for television with Freedom Scripted, as well as having a laundry list of credits to her name. She is a champion of the Scottish South Asian community and works tirelessly to bring stories by South Asian artists for South Asian audiences to our screens. We chatted about schemes for entry level artists, the difference between working for free and asking people to work for free, being given the chance to fail in our work, and the idea of having a self-sufficient industry
