Gathering Voices
In this exclusive episode of Gathering Voices, host Jennifer Mindock, founder of Jentle Land Mark, partners with The Mom Market’s Winter Wonderland Holiday Event to spotlight an important cause impacting the Lehigh Valley community. All proceeds from the event’s Christmas tree auction benefit Self! Lehigh Valley Women’s Reentry, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women returning home after incarceration. Jennifer is joined by Luna Fernandez, founder of Self! Lehigh Valley and a prison survivor herself, for an honest, powerful conversation about reentry, lived experience, and the urgent need for community-centered support systems for women. Together, they explore the realities of reintegrating into society, the lack of housing and employment opportunities, the importance of mental health and peer support, and why language matters when we talk about incarceration. This episode challenges stigma, reframes reentry as a process that begins inside, and highlights how lived experience is not a liability but an asset. Luna shares her personal journey, the creation of the Self! House, and how education, advocacy, and community involvement can spark real, lasting change. Listeners are invited to reflect with compassion, rethink assumptions, and learn practical ways to support women in reentry through volunteering, education, and collective action. This conversation is a call to listen more deeply, uplift marginalized voices, and help build a more just and supportive community.
