Except from substack article: "...Modernly, personal sovereignty or “self-sovereignty,” through my interpretation is the intentional disconnection from societal “rules,” pressures, and expectations. It is living life by your own moral code and ethics, shaped by past experiences and trauma. It is the intentional removal of others’ projections and/or limitations on your life, and choosing to trust your own intuition and connection to God (spirit, source, etc.) when making personal life choices. I’ve spent most of my life modeling what others wanted to see from me to feel “chosen” or accepted by those around me. I learned at an early age that, by default, who I was “wasn’t enough,” based on the adults and early mentors I grew up around. I grew up Catholic (no longer practicing), and if you’re familiar with the religion, then you know there are different “milestones” you complete as you grow into your faith. I was 10 years old, and it was time for my First Communion.
