Black women rising through the ranks of leadership face unique challenges that require resilience, determination, and strategic support. Despite their ambition and qualifications, they often encounter barriers such as racial and gender bias, limited access to resources, and stereotypes that can hinder their progress. Many Black women leaders report experiencing imposter syndrome, questioning their abilities despite their achievements. However, successful Black women in leadership positions have found ways to overcome these obstacles by developing high emotional intelligence, understanding and countering stereotypes, and staying true to their authentic selves. In this episode of Grow Black Leaders Podcast, we are joined by Renee Sattiewhite, the President and CEO of AACUC, to share her journey of rising through the ranks of leadership as a Black woman. AACUC unites the credit union movement to ensure Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and advocates for the 8th Cooperative Principle focused on DEI.
