The Masks We Wear and How They Affect Relationships

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2055599/open_sms] In this episode, I will discuss why we wear "masks" and how they can affect our personalities which in turn can affect of relationships. The term “masking” refers to the propensity people feel to hide their emotions or personality traits in specific situations.  I will also discuss emotional repression and avoidance. Emotions are part of who we are; however, many of us have a difficult relationship with negative emotions. Emotional repression is all about avoiding emotional suffering. It is a coping style used to hide and push away negative emotions. Emotional repression can be thought of as a defense mechanism, where people defend themselves from the negatives and focus instead on the positive aspects of who they are without addressing the negative aspects of their emotions. Please join me while we explore "The Masks We Wear" and discuss ways we can remove them and live a positive, healthy, and productive life being ourselves!

Self-Love and Being Good to Yourself

Send us a text [https://www.buzzsprout.com/twilio/text_messages/2055599/open_sms] This week's episode revolves around taking the time to love yourself and being good to yourself. Self-love allows you to reach a new level of security and happiness. Once you can learn to be good to yourself and love who you are, you will experience a state of happiness that you would not find otherwise. Loving and caring for yourself will allow you to love and care for others in your personal, social, or professional  circle. Additionally, I will discuss how we look outside of ourselves for love since this is how we typically find stability and confidence. Self- love is beneficial both mentally and physically. Please join me this week so that we can discuss ways to begin loving ourselves and spend less time looking for love outside of ourselves.
