Pentecost // Episode 47

What is Pentecost, and why does it still matter today? In this episode, Pastors Randy and Nate unpack the biblical significance of Pentecost and how it connects the Old Testament, the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2, and the mission of the Church today.  They explore how Pentecost began as the Feast of Weeks, a celebration of firstfruits, harvest, and gratitude before God. They also walk through the powerful connection between Mount Sinai and Acts 2: fire, wind, sound, and the presence of God descending among His people.  This conversation highlights the shift from the Law written on stone to the Spirit written on hearts, the birth of the Church, and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all believers. Randy and Nate discuss how Pentecost is not just about emotional experience, but about empowerment, transformation, intimacy with God, and mission.  They also talk about the marks of a Spirit-filled church: prayer, generosity, joy, fellowship, evangelism, and lives transformed by the presence of God.  Pentecost reminds us that God is not distant. His Spirit dwells within His people, empowers the Church, and continues to draw people into His harvest today.

Finding My Identity // Episode 46

Who are we really, and why are we here?  In this episode, Pastor Randy sits down with Trevor King for an honest conversation about identity, purpose, and the search for meaning. Raised in the church but feeling disconnected from God personally, Trevor shares what it looked like to go through the motions while searching for identity everywhere else.  From chasing status, independence, achievement, partying, relationships, and different expressions of identity, there was still a lingering feeling that something was missing. Even after exploring success, sexuality, masculinity, and self-definition, fulfillment always seemed just out of reach.  Trevor also speaks openly about feeling hurt and disconnected from church culture while still carrying empathy for people trying to figure out who they are and where they belong.  Then came surrender.  After years of searching and trying to carry life alone, anxiety and stress reached a point where nothing seemed to help. In that place, surrendering to God became the turning point that changed everything.  Now, Trevor’s identity is no longer rooted in status, achievement, or approval, but in being a child of God.  This episode is about searching, wrestling, surrender, and discovering that real transformation only comes through the grace of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
