None of us would have ever healed if we didn't rewrite our stories. Become the author of our own story of self. We either let society, modern culture, the narrative write our story for us. Or? We write our own story. In healing the difference is profound. The narrative story written for us says that the sun is bad, cholesterol is bad, saturated fat is bad. And so much more. Is this your story? It is your choice. Each of us can author a new story of self and our relationship with food, movement, sun, healing trauma and more. And what a healthy diet is. Is eating six meals healthy or 3 or fewer? Is butter bad or is margarine? What is YOUR story? Our sense of self can be written by others. Even our lane in the world can be written by others as Cameron observes. And this inauthenticity can be very damaging to us and our ability to heal. And most accept that constructed by others' story, which is never truly ours, as their story. Ultimately every healing story is a form of Joseph Campbell's 'hero journey'. Reclaiming authorship of our lives, health decisions, and healing. It is a form of evolution. Shadow work. Destruction and new beginnings. As a health coach, yes I supply knowledge and technique. Hints and tips. Feedback. But I am mostly a facilitator to help a client rewrite their story of self. And what a healthy lifestyle looks like. A Powerful and enlightening podcast.
