Descripción

After months of training, suffering, teamwork and questioning our life choices mid-workout, we finally stepped onto the HYROX field on Saturday, 9th May. In this episode, we unpack the full race day experience: from the adrenaline highs and incredible team moments to the brutal stations that tested us mentally and physically. We talk about what surprised us, what pushed us, what nearly broke us and of course… the infamous wall ball that almost brought tears to the scene. Ep36 - Things I’m Learning & Unlearning in Therapy | Up Close & Personal

In this deeply personal episode, Hekaya (I am she) opens up about her journey with therapy, mental health, self-awareness and the often uncomfortable process of learning and unlearning. After years of doing the inner work through books, podcasts, online resources and intentional self-reflection, I found herself confronting a difficult truth: awareness alone was no longer enough. From unpacking my relationship with work and productivity, to confronting the reality of rest, community, emotional survival and the inner critic we rarely speak about out loud, this episode is an honest reflection on what healing can actually look like in real time. This conversation also builds on previous mental health conversations on the podcast including Episode 28 with Nassim, psychologist, mental health advocate and founder of HUGs Organisation, and Episode 11 with Rix Poet on men’s mental health, vulnerability and emotional wellbeing. This is not an episode from a professional or expert. It is simply one person sharing what they are currently learning while trying to navigate life a little more gently and intentionally. If you have ever felt exhausted despite being self-aware, struggled with rest, tied your worth to productivity, or found yourself quietly carrying things alone, this conversation might sit with you for a while.
