Christ Centered Hope for Today's World
Jim returns as we continue our Walk with Jesus series. Today we enter Mark 11:11–21, where we encounter one of the most well known moments in Jesus' ministry: His cleansing of the temple. There, He confronts those who had turned a place of worship into a place of exploitation, taking advantage of those who had come to seek God. Yet surrounding this dramatic event is another account that has puzzled readers for centuries: Jesus' encounter with a fig tree. At first glance, His response seems surprising, even confusing, leaving many to wonder why this story is included in Scripture at all. As we look more closely, however, we discover that the fig tree is not an isolated event, but a powerful lesson that frames everything happening in the temple. Together, these passages reveal a sobering warning about outward religion without genuine faith, while also pointing us to the incredible grace of God. Join us as we uncover the significance of these remarkable events and discover The High Cost of Unbelief. Our building was originally constructed in 1861 and is the oldest protestant church building in continuous use in our county. Many people have come and gone throughout the generations, but our goal will always remain: To Serve Jesus only, and learn from His Living Word, the Scriptures. Our small church body are all admittedly sinners, that openly strive to improve our walk daily, but also understand that we are Redeemed by the shed blood of Christ Jesus and declared innocent in God’s eyes due to Grace Alone! There is no act of baptism, charity or observation of communion that deems us worthy. No amount of following the law of Moses, or the ever-popular observation of legalism in many churches today that will save us. That is us believing in ourselves, rather than what Christ did for us completely. If you struggle with understanding the concept of salvation or are plagued by false teachings of following traditions rather than Christ alone, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We would love to help! Please watch our archive of messages on a variety of topics. Please like and share our content with others that can benefit from what God has inspired our array of speakers to bring to the body. Most importantly, be sure you are secure in your relationship with God and Christ Jesus. It is so simple. Do not wait.
