Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2518343/fan_mail/new] Histamine intolerance can turn normal life into nonstop problem-solving: reading lists, tracking symptoms, searching forums, and still feeling like your body changes the rules overnight. I’m Teresa Christensen, a functional medicine certified health coach who lives with histamine intolerance, and I know the fear that comes with headaches, itching, belly pain, fatigue, and that sudden “what if this gets worse?” spiral. There’s a different way to approach it, one that builds safety and steadiness instead of more restriction. We walk through the three supports that shape my coaching work: relief you can feel, routines that provide rhythm, and being rooted in confidence. You’ll hear how simple, practical responses can change the experience of a flare, like recognizing when heat is a trigger and using cooling to help your body settle. We also talk about why rhythm often matters more than perfection, including a small but powerful routine change that helps reduce morning anxiety without forcing you to give up everything you enjoy. The final piece is trust. Living well doesn’t require symptom perfection; it requires the ability to pause, assess what’s happening, and respond with clarity when the unexpected shows up. I share what confidence looks like in real time and how the “reliable body” idea can help you define a realistic goal that fits your life. If you’re ready for personalized support, I’m opening five spots for the fall session of Living Well with Histamine Intolerance, a three-month private coaching experience starting in September. Subscribe for more practical support, share this with a friend who feels stuck, and leave a review so more women can find the help they’ve been searching for. This three-month private coaching experience begins in September, with individual start dates scheduled around each client. Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2518343/fan_mail/new] Getting a diagnosis can quiet the “what is happening?” panic, but it can also create a new question we all recognize: okay, now what? I share my own path from a mastocytosis-family diagnosis to learning that healing comes from patterns, support, and a bigger picture than a food list.   • the relief of having a name for symptoms and the uncertainty that follows   • my biopsy story, adult onset urticaria pigmentosa, and ruling out cancer   • years of allergies, fragrance sensitivity, and symptoms that slowly changed   • fatigue, caffeine reliance, and noticing anxiety-driven itching   • alcohol and food reactions that made sense only in hindsight   • why low histamine food lists help short term but can create food fear long term   • the reality that histamine triggers differ from person to person   • the link between histamine and hormones during perimenopause and menopause   • lifestyle foundations that matter alongside diet: sleep, stress, movement, environment   If you'd like to learn more about living well with histamine intolerance, visit my website at histaminehealthcoach.com. Episode 37 - When Your Meals Look Different Than You Expected

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2518343/fan_mail/new] We connect a surprising story about a tick bite and Alpha Gal syndrome to the way many of us experience sudden, confusing health shifts with histamine intolerance. We explore how curiosity, not fear, helps us adapt, track symptoms, and keep building a meaningful life even when food rules change.   • the “I was fine until” moment and how symptoms can appear suddenly or gradually   • why food restrictions feel like a loss of freedom and spontaneity   • the hidden work of “strategy” including planning meals, scanning menus, carrying H1s and H2s   • what Alpha Gal syndrome is and why delayed reactions make it hard to identify   • the key distinction between a true allergy and histamine intolerance or mast cell activation syndrome   • choosing curiosity over fear to spot patterns across food, stress, hormones, sleep, meds, and environment   • adapting meals and routines to feel better without making life smaller   If today's episode resonated with you, I would love to hear your story.   Please like and share this podcast with others you might think benefit.   And if you're looking for resources for living well with histamine intolerance, visit my website at histaminehealthcoach.com.   There you will find the Low Histamine Diet Starter Plan along with a guide to living well with histamine intolerance.   Or you can email me personally at Teresa at Histamine Health Coach.com with any questions or topics you would like to hear about on the Histamine Health Coach podcast.   I’m opening five spots for the fall session of Living Well with Histamine Intolerance. Episode 36 - Support That Lowers Histamine Stress

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2518343/fan_mail/new] The hardest part of histamine intolerance is not always the food. It’s the moment someone invites you to dinner and your brain starts racing: Will there be anything I can eat? Will I react right away or pay for it tomorrow? Will I look “difficult” for asking questions? That stress is real, and it can shrink your world fast. Today I focus on the lifestyle factor that gets overlooked in most histamine conversations: support through relationships. We dig into what support actually means (hint: it’s not perfection and it’s not everyone eating a low histamine diet with you). I share simple, doable examples like bringing a safe protein to a family gathering, checking a restaurant menu ahead of time, and being included in planning so you have time to prepare. We also talk about why people often don’t “get it,” including the unpredictability of the histamine bucket, and how clear information helps loved ones show up better. If you’ve been stuck between protecting your body and wanting your life back, this is for you. I end with one question that can reshape your healing journey: who is on your team, and what would it look like to ask for help? If this resonates, email me and tell me what support you have or what you wish you had, and grab my free Low Histamine Diet Starter Plan at histaminehealthcoach.com. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs this, and leave a review so more women can find support too. I’m opening five spots for the fall session of Living Well with Histamine Intolerance. Episode 35 - How To Exercise With Histamine Intolerance Without Flaring

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2518343/fan_mail/new] Movement can feel like a trap when you live with histamine intolerance: do too much and you risk flushing, itching, dizziness, headaches, GI symptoms, a racing heart, or a brutal two-day crash. Do too little and your body gets stiffer, sleep gets worse, stress climbs, and you start doubting what you can handle. I’m Teresa Christensen, a functional medicine certified health coach, and I’m sharing a gentler way to think about exercise when your system feels unpredictable. We start by naming what many women carry quietly: fear. For some, exercise-induced anaphylaxis is real, and past reactions can make even a simple walk feel unsafe. I talk about why the nervous system matters as much as the workout, and how “supportive movement” often lives in the middle ground between pushing harder and avoiding everything. You’ll hear why walking is my go-to, how cold and ice can change the entire experience, and the practical ways I adapt around outdoor triggers like flowering plants, pollen, and even what gets stirred up when lawns are cut. We also get specific about temperature regulation and cooling down, including why cold plunges, cold showers, or even ice water after exercise can backfire for sensitive bodies. Then we dig into strength training for women as we age, what to look for in a trainer, and why recovery is often the true limiting factor with histamine symptoms. I also share my take on vibration plates as a tool that can either feel grounding or overstimulating depending on the person. If this helps, subscribe, share with a friend who’s struggling, and leave a quick review so more women can find support.
