Horse(wo)manship with Vicki Rose
This was a very fun interview where we were surrounded by hundreds of Breyer horses and tons of books! Laurie described her history with horses, beginning in the vaulting world, then moving to the Olympic caliber showjumping world, and now crafting her own slice of horse paradise where she teaches kids how to have FUN with horses. We talked about the importance of setting boundaries in the horse industry, and the experience she had with an old cowboy and a rope that broke the stranglehold that perfectionism had on her. The conversation ambled easily between topics of wild horse behavior, learning about chakras in order to better connect with your horse, and how the Masterson Method has transformed her relationship with her horses. Unfortunately I lost the video recording of this interview while it was being uploaded, so the interview is audio only. A good learning experience—don’t drive down the road and leave the wi-fi until the ENTIRE video is uploaded!!! Next time :) Until then, stay curious, stay connected, and if you can, stay in the saddle! My friend Maddy and I with the Chincoteague Ponies I started back in 2023! This is a public episode.
