Caution to the "If I Was You..." "It Couldn't Be Me" Type Advice

I am sure they mean well when they attempt to put themselves in our shoes and share their lens, but the reality is they are not you, and no amount of "if" will change that. Here is my lens on why that kind of advice tends to be projections from people's inner world, and some things to think about before accepting any advice as truth or prescription for you.

It's Not that Big of A Deal!

What's not that big of a deal? NONE of it... not the identities we claim, emotions we experience, the challenges, the mistakes, the missteps... or the stories we tell ourselves about how things should be. So many of us spend so much energy trying to defend the ego - these mental constructs. But we are all so much more than the moment we are expressing in. This episode was inspired by a conversation with a friend that was being hard on themselves. I was encouraging them to not worry about being behind, or rushing to some place of healing... none of it truly mattered; it's all made up. So whatever this episode offers you... thank you for being here with me.

There Is No Perfect Way to Express

There may be someone, maybe you - who has an issue with what was said, or how it was said... and I am here to say: SO BE IT. This episode exist as a reminder that, Yes, things could have been different, but it was not... So, now what?! This idea that "you should have," "could have," won't change what was. We can always see how else something could have been handled, after the fact , but what is the actual issue? Is it that the person said or did something you did not like? Or did they do or say something you don't want to hear or deal with? What's the actual "issue" at hand. Would the way they said it or handled it, change the outcome of where it was headed?

Lean Into Your Emotions

Emotions have purpose... they provide us with information! This episode is PRO EMOTIONS. Pro being Human. Pro embracing your human experience and that includes EMOTIONS.

Most Men Always Put Themselves First

One thing I learned from men is the importance of putting yourself first. Most men I've been in proximity with have shown me that selfishness is how they maintain a life that they WANT. They won't prioritize the child, wife, job, or other people feelings. If it does not benefits them in the way they desire, it is NOT A PRIORITY. Pay attention. If you don't already... learn from men, and honor your needs. You are the only guaranteed consistent thing in your life, please take care of you!
